In 2006, Mick Wilson and pianist Connie Michael started the duo, Rosewood & Ivory, in order to expand the Celtic roots of Fifth Reel. They assembled a large, highly diverse Jazz rooted repertoire that spans the musical spectrum from Benny Goodman and Pete Fountain to Duke Ellington and George Gershwin. For special occasions, Rosewood & Ivory adds Fifth Reel fiddler, Norm Ashley, to further expand their musical horizons as the Rosewood Trio.
In May, 2012, Rosewood & Ivory released a CD, "Jazzin' Around" to showcase their talents. Their CD has received a warm endorsement from Julie Fraser:
"Really just lovely - whether peaceful or upbeat, it's incredibly good pure musical joy."
Here are a couple of tunes from the CD.
"That's A Plenty"

"Hello again Connie. I just wanted to tell you and Mick thank you again for providing the great music for our Camaraderie group today. We had numerous ladies tell us how much they appreciated the music, and my committee and I all agreed. It was so nice to sit back and simply enjoy listening to you and the wonderful tunes."
Connie and Mick. Your CD is wonderful. Thanks for giving me one. I just finished listening to the whole thing. Nice choice of tunes and instruments. I put it on the pile of CDs that I replay often.
