What Else Do We Do?
Because of the diverse backgrounds of the members of Fifth Reel, you'll find us involved in many venues in Western Colorado. Here are a few of them:
Of Course, we play dances! We often travel outside of Grand Junction to serve up contra dances for various organizations. In the past year we've included Fort Robinson, Nebraska, Boulder, Colorado, as well as several localities here on the Western Slope.
Rockslide Brewpub is our host from 6:00 to 8:00 pm on the first and third Wednesdays of every month. Please come have a fine meal and/or a great beer and enjoy the music and dance.
Assisted Living and Nursing Home Entertainment
One of our joys is entertaining seniors who reside in various facilities here in the valley. We fit our music to the season or holiday and keep it light and happy, all for a modest fee.
Fifth Reel will put together a customized musical program for your special event. For weddings we can provide pre-ceremony, processional and recessional instrumentals. For receptions we can provide background music, or we an also offer simple, easily-learned traditional dances to complete your special day.
Fifth Reel has played at the Summer Concert Series at the Chapel of the Cross in Cedaredge many times. We also perform for benefits and celebrations. Our programs include Celtic and Jazzy instrumentals and vocals among our many musical styles. We will perform Celtic music on May 18 & 19 at the Grand Junction Celtic Festival. Please join us there!
Fifth Reel was selected as the regional band in two major dance festivals. Over Memorial Day weekend, 2019, we were a part of FolkMADness Music and Dance Weekend in Soccoro, New Mexico, and January 17-20, 2020 we performed as the regional band in the Rocky Mountain Ranch Dance near Buena Vista, CO. These were major honors for Fifth Reel and we were thrilled to be invited to both festivals.

"Thanks so much for making the trip over, and for playing at the wedding. It was really great, and I've had SO many comments from ceilidh-first-timers about how much they enjoyed it. You were quite the hit! Thank you"
