Mick Wilson, who is a member of the duo Rosewood & Ivory, adds a fascinating variety of blues, jazz, and Celtic sounds to the contra dance band’s repertoire with his clarinet.
A highly respected music educator for over 30 years, Mick has also been active as a performing musician during his teaching career, playing all styles of music from classical to rock to Klezmer. He is first clarinetist emeritus of the Grand Junction Symphony and served as lead tenor Saxophone in the Western Colorado Jazz Orchestra for many years.
A native of Aliquippa, Pennsylvania, Mick has music degrees from Indiana University of Pennsylvania and Western State College. He is married to fellow music educator and clarinetist, Debbie Wilson.
